Update #6 - January 31, 2022
AMFA and Horizon Air met again in Seattle, WA on January 27–28, 2022, to continue negotiations in response to the Company’s January 11 time-for-money proposal. AMFA’s Negotiating Committee had met in advance with its legal and economic advisors and passed its counterproposal at the outset of the meetings on Day 1. Thereafter, the parties exchanged several proposals and engaged in productive dialogue over the course of two long days of bargaining.
The Parties worked late into the evening on Friday, January 28, 2022, and were able to reach an Agreement in Principle (AIP) on a two-year contract, which contains compensation improvements for AMFA members at Horizon. AMFA’s economist estimates the agreement, if ratified, would represent a nearly fourteen percent (14%) increase in all-in pay for a top-of-scale technician in year one of the two-year deal.
The Parties, with the assistance of legal, are in the process of converting the AIP into a full Tentative Agreement (TA), which you will be provided to review and consider in advance of ratification. We will provide full details of the agreement in the coming days and roadshows by AMFA representatives will follow shortly thereafter in advance of the ratification vote.
We would like to thank all of the members for their unwavering support of the Negotiating Committee during this process and please stay tuned for additional details.
